Most NetSuite merchants who look at a SuiteCommerce migration are not unhappy with NetSuite. They are unhappy with the storefront: slow pages, upgrades that turn into projects, a shrinking pool of SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA) developers, and marketing changes that wait for a developer. AwaCommerce Next lets you replace the storefront and keep everything else. NetSuite stays your ERP, your item master, and your source of truth for pricing, inventory, customers, and orders.
This page explains who a migration fits, what moves and what stays, how we protect your search rankings, and the steps we follow. To protect your rankings step by step, read how to migrate from SuiteCommerce without losing SEO.
Who this migration is for
A move off SuiteCommerce makes sense when one or more of these is true:
- You run SuiteCommerce Advanced and dread the next upgrade. Customized SCA source code and custom extensions make each new release a merge-and-test project, so many sites stay several versions behind.
- You run SuiteCommerce Standard and hit its limits. Themes and extensions cover a lot, but deeper B2B workflows or layout changes need workarounds.
- Your site is slow on mobile. Core Web Vitals affect both Google rankings and conversion, and they are hard to fix inside an older single-page storefront.
- You sell B2C and B2B from one NetSuite account and want both experiences, plus a customer account portal, from one catalog.
- You are planning for NetSuite Next and want a storefront built on the APIs Oracle keeps going forward.
If your SuiteCommerce site is fast, current, and your team is happy maintaining it, you may not need to move yet. That is a fair answer, and we will tell you so.
What changes and what stays
| Area | Stays in NetSuite | Moves to AwaCommerce Next |
|---|---|---|
| Items, matrix items, and pricing | Yes: NetSuite remains the item master and price list owner | Read in real time for the storefront |
| Inventory by location | Yes | Shown live; checkout re-checks availability |
| Customers and contacts | Yes | Shoppers with Give Access are enabled for the new store |
| Sales orders | Created in NetSuite at checkout | Checkout flow, payment, and confirmation |
| Categories and catalogs | Imported from your commerce categories | Managed in the AwaCommerce Admin afterwards |
| Product images | Imported from your File Cabinet image folder | Managed in the Admin afterwards |
| Product reviews | Imported from SuiteCommerce review records | Shown on the new product pages |
| Storefront design | Not applicable | Layout builder, skins, and landing pages in the Admin |
The key point: you do not rebuild your catalog. We read it from NetSuite. There is no second item master to keep in sync and no middleware to monitor.
Will I lose my SEO?
This is the most common worry, and it is the right one. Replatforms lose traffic when old URLs stop working, when page titles and descriptions disappear, or when the new site launches without being crawled. Our migration addresses each one:
- Old product and category URLs keep working. The storefront recognizes the classic SuiteCommerce URL style. An old product URL goes to the product, and old category URLs go to the matching category, with a permanent (301) redirect. Old sort, page, keyword, and filter parameters carry over when they match a current filter.
- URL components carry over. Your NetSuite URL component field is mapped onto the new product URL field, so product URLs can stay recognizable.
- You control every other redirect. Any URL that is not covered automatically can be added in the Admin, one at a time or by CSV import. Each redirect shows how often it is used, so you can see which old links still get traffic.
- Structured data is built in. Product pages ship Schema.org markup, so search engines and AI assistants can read prices, availability, and reviews.
- Faster pages help rankings. A storefront served from a global edge network on your own domain usually improves Core Web Vitals, which Google uses as a ranking signal.
We cover the full process in our guide to migrating from SuiteCommerce without losing SEO.
How the migration works
Every migration is scoped to your NetSuite account, so we do not publish fixed timelines. The steps are the same every time.
1. Discovery and scoping
We review your NetSuite edition and subsidiaries, your current SuiteCommerce site, customizations, B2B rules, integrations, and traffic. You get a recommended license, the packs you need (for example Advanced B2B or Advanced B2C), and a list of anything that needs custom work.
2. Connect NetSuite
We install the AwaCommerce SuiteApp and connect your account. Catalog, pricing, inventory, and customers start syncing. Nothing on your live SuiteCommerce site changes yet.
3. Guided site migration
Our team runs the site migration in steps, each with a dry run first so we can check the numbers before anything is written:
- Map your Web Store item fields (display name, descriptions, URL component, UPC, and web visibility) onto the AwaCommerce item fields.
- Import the items that are displayed on your website.
- Import commerce categories, with their images and item assignments.
- Import commerce catalogs.
- Match product images from your File Cabinet image folder.
- Import product reviews.
- Import related and presentation items.
- Enable the customers and contacts that had Give Access.
4. Design and configuration
Your team, or ours, configures the storefront in the Admin: brand skin, layouts, home page, navigation, checkout options, shipping, payments, and tracking. No SCA build tooling is involved.
5. Test on a staging domain
You place real test orders, check B2B pricing for sample customers, review redirects, and run performance checks before any DNS change.
6. Launch and monitor
Point your domain at the new storefront. Returning shoppers set a new password the first time they sign in. We monitor redirects, Search Console, and order flow after launch.
Why merchants choose AwaCommerce Next over staying on SCA
- No SuiteCommerce or SCA license. You need your NetSuite subscription and an AwaCommerce license.
- Modular licensing. Start with a base license and add packs (Advanced B2B, Advanced B2C, AI, Loyalty, Subscriptions, and more) only when you need them.
- No upgrade projects. The platform is updated for you. Your configuration lives in the Admin, not in forked source code or custom extensions.
- One catalog, three experiences. A B2C storefront, a B2B wholesale portal, and a customer account portal from the same NetSuite data.
- NetSuite Next Ready. Built on SuiteTalk REST, SuiteQL, RESTlets, OAuth 2.0, and SuiteScript 2.1.
