NetSuite Next is Oracle's next generation of NetSuite. For merchants who sell online, the practical question is simple: will my storefront keep working, or will I need to rebuild it? AwaCommerce Next was designed so that the answer is "it keeps working".
What NetSuite Next Ready means
AwaCommerce Next connects catalog, pricing, inventory, customers, and checkout through these interfaces:
- SuiteTalk REST for records such as customers and sales orders
- SuiteQL for fast catalog, pricing, and inventory queries
- RESTlets for commerce operations that run inside NetSuite
- OAuth 2.0 for authentication
- SuiteScript 2.1 for scripts inside your account
These are the integration interfaces Oracle keeps on NetSuite Next. The storefront and the cloud Admin run on AwaCommerce URLs, outside NetSuite, so they do not depend on legacy NetSuite web templates or hosting. Embedding the Admin in NetSuite as a Suitelet is optional.
The result: moving your account to NetSuite Next does not require a commerce rebuild.
Why the integration approach matters
Ecommerce integrations age at different speeds depending on how they were built:
| Integration style | Risk when NetSuite evolves |
|---|---|
| Legacy web store templates and server-side pages hosted in NetSuite | Higher: tied to how NetSuite renders and hosts the store |
| SOAP-based integrations | Medium: SOAP web services are being phased down in favor of REST |
| Connectors maintained by a third party | Depends on the vendor's roadmap |
| SuiteTalk REST, SuiteQL, RESTlets, OAuth 2.0 | Lower: the interfaces Oracle carries forward |
When you evaluate any storefront, ask which of these it uses. We cover the questions to ask in NetSuite Next and ecommerce: what changes for merchants.
What stays the same for your team
- NetSuite remains the item master and the source of pricing, inventory, customers, and orders.
- Your storefront design, layouts, and content live in the AwaCommerce Admin, not in NetSuite, so they carry over unchanged.
- B2B rules such as price levels, terms, tax exemption, and parent and child accounts keep using NetSuite records.
Enterprise features included
Being NetSuite Next Ready is not a separate product. Every AwaCommerce license includes the same direct API connection:
- Real-time sync of items, matrix items, price levels, inventory by location, and customers
- Sales orders created in NetSuite after checkout validation
- Live carrier rates from NetSuite
- OneWorld subsidiaries and currencies for extra sites
- A modern Next.js storefront and a cloud Admin
