BigCommerce is a capable SaaS platform with a strong B2B story through B2B Edition, and many merchants connect it to NetSuite. Like any connected platform, it keeps its own copy of products, customers, and orders, and relies on a connector to keep them aligned with NetSuite.
Commerce built for NetSuite removes that second system. AwaCommerce Next reads catalog, pricing, inventory, and customers straight from NetSuite and creates orders in NetSuite. Here is how the two approaches compare.
Two architectures
BigCommerce + NetSuite
- Products, variants, price lists, and customer groups are maintained in BigCommerce, often seeded from NetSuite.
- A connector (from BigCommerce's partner ecosystem or an integration platform) syncs inventory, orders, customers, and fulfillments.
- B2B Edition adds company accounts, quotes, invoices, and buyer portals inside BigCommerce, mapped to NetSuite records.
AwaCommerce Next
- A SuiteApp connects the storefront to NetSuite in real time.
- NetSuite price levels, contract pricing, quantity tiers, matrix items, and inventory by location are used directly.
- Quotes, terms, invoices, statements, and AR balance come from NetSuite records.

What to weigh
Data ownership. With BigCommerce, some business rules live outside NetSuite: price lists, customer groups, and B2B company structures. That can be fine if your team manages them in BigCommerce, but it means two places to change when terms or prices change.
Sync and reconciliation. Every connected flow can fail: an order that does not import, a customer that does not match, inventory that lags. Someone has to watch those queues.
B2B fit. BigCommerce B2B Edition is feature-rich. The question is whether you want those features to run in BigCommerce and sync to NetSuite, or to run on NetSuite records directly.
Platform scope. BigCommerce has a broad app marketplace and channel integrations. AwaCommerce focuses on NetSuite commerce, with packs instead of third-party apps.
When BigCommerce is the better fit
- You want a large app marketplace and many sales channel integrations.
- Your team prefers to manage B2B rules in the ecommerce platform, not in NetSuite.
- NetSuite is mainly your financial system, not where pricing and customer rules live.
When AwaCommerce Next is the better fit
- Your pricing, customers, and terms already live in NetSuite and you want to keep them there.
- You need accurate, real-time stock from NetSuite locations.
- You want B2C, B2B, and a customer account portal from one NetSuite catalog without a connector.
- You want fewer systems and fewer sync errors to monitor.
